I’m always on the hunt for cool glassware to fill the prop library: poppin’ tags at Goodwill and local thrift stores, Buy Nothing Groups, Ross/HomeGoods/Marshalls/TJ Maxx, garage sales, my parents’ house, Amazon, Williams-Sonoma, West Elm, anywhere. I’ve been collecting cool barware lately, not just wine glassware and accessories, and that has been really fun!

The goal has been to play with light in the photo studio. I want to try to light the set to set a mood, to showcase the lines of a glass, to create shadows and edge lights.

Some of these shots are darker than others, some are a bit warmer, it’s all a part of my testing and practicing and noodling.

This dark and moody series was a bit of a challenge with those angled glasses but also my arm blocking light. I also tend to really like dark and moody, but the next series from my barware experiments will be the exact opposite! More to come on that later. For now, enjoy the gallery.
