Goat cheese, my love language. When a client contacted me to create new imagery for Laura Chenel I didn’t hesitate to make it work. They even came all the way up to my Medford studio, which was tight and not ideal, I’ll be the first to admit, but we made it work and produced some fun and delicious imagery. We shot in all variations you can think of, but this client and I have a history of getting scrappy and creative to get the shot.

Proof… This level of commitment produced images like the fig and rosemary shot here, which I still love to this day.

Back to the Laura Chenel shoot! We had a robust shot list to accomplish and while a robust list on a wine shoot isn’t as time sensitive, goat cheese, fresh produce baked/cooked items and other foods are. Our pre-production level was on point - we scoped out each of the three days pretty well overall. We started with the hardest shot of them all, all 4 oz. logs in one shot with lots of food, styling and finesse. Scrappy-style: we shot this one on the floor because the set was large. We were up for it, but it was tough, and I have a solution for this now for future shoots.

Later that day, we tackled a few more sets, showcasing various cheeses with delectable recipes.

Day 2, we soldiered on!

Day 3 was a bit different, we only shot brie in a styled set and then did knockouts most of the day.

Follow Laura Chenel on social to see the new packaging and more of the shots we did! I loved this shoot.

You get goat cheese! And you get goat cheese! And you get goat cheese! I was pretty popular there for a few weeks. It’s my favorite - what a haul!
